love.your.enemy

Remember. But, forgive.

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

( Matthew 5:43-48 )

  1. This has changed my colleagues. The part where we have to love others and also where in the Bible is mentioned to bless them.

I’m apologizing now for my long comment.
In the time that Danish or Norwegian I don’t remember anymore a Scandinavian newspaper had posted cartoon about Mohammed. The fundamental muslims reacted furious of course and wanted the journalist dead. My three colleagues talked about it to me. I told them it was ridiculous that they reacted that way. One of my colleague said it was not right to attack them on their faith. I told him that they, my colleagues attack me daily on my faiht. They stopped and looked shocked at me. When do we do that? they asked. I told them: “Every day you call out the name of God and Jesus in a bad way but that God is my God so you attack me on my faith. Shall I also take out my sword and kill you? No, I won’t because my God tells me to love you, pray for you and bless you. That means He wants the best for you.” I will never forget that. From that day they never cursed and if they did they would be shocked themselves and hold their hands to their mouth and apologize. One of them even started to tell to new ones not to curse because “Ani is christian”. I’m smiling now because I have been praying for them and one of their mother was my colleague too and after I left I found out she accepted Jesus as her Savior.

  2. I kind of wonder how the nation of Israel, as God’s chosen body of people, would have responded to something like September 11th. Obviously they don’t recognize the New Testament as the Word of God.
